Noob Daddy and I just got back from a week-long vacay in Heaven aka tropical fairytale paradise aka Bora Bora. It’s the place where I think every screensaver, wallpaper, and postcard is photographed showing thatched huts, blindingly blue water and palm trees coming out of your ears.
Oh yeah, and when I say “just got back”, I mean … a few weeks ago. However, mentally I’m still on vacation. I think it’s perfectly legit to have a daiquiri in the morning (fruit is a healthful part of breakfast), margarita with lunch, rum & coke post-lunch, pina colada before dinner, and a hearty glass of Sauvignon Blanc at dinner. Don’t you??
Alright… I wish I had the ability to drink that much. That probably would have made college a much more “interesting” experience. The point is… jumping into the neighborhood pool here is so much less exotic than bounding off our bungalow deck into crystal blue water swarming with fish of all shapes, sizes, and radiant colors.
I miss Bora Bora. Most importantly, I miss vacation.
We were lucky to have our amazingly wonderful family watch Noob Baby for the week while we scampered off like honeymooners. I won’t lie. It was a welcomed hugely welcomed breather after two years of being 24/7 Mommy.
Of course, while we were away … I couldn’t stop talking about Noob Baby.
“I miss her talking.”
“I wonder what she’s doing now?”
“I bet she just woke up from her nap.”
“I miss her chubby cheeks.”
“I miss her sweaty diaper smell.”
“I miss her milk breath.”
Gross.
So I’ll admit, blogging has totally fallen by the wayside. I’m soaking up the summer lazies mostly … reading, watching crappy TV (Toddlers and Tiaras? So so wrong), and counting down the days till our next getaway.
I hope you are enjoying the lazies just as much as me. And to my noob parents out there … forget about the dishes and laundry, SLEEP!
