We (Barely) Survived Night 3 of CIO

Happy Sunday! Back from the trenches of Ferberland. Just when Noob Daddy and I were starting to get a little bit cocky that our Noob Baby might be above the curve on sleep training, she decided to wake up at 4 am and cry-it-out she did! With passion, might I add. Poor thing…

She cried for an hour, and I went in and checked on her 3 times from 4-5 am. It was definitely hard, but she is learning to fall asleep on her own. My back thanks her for it! Her naps averaged about 10 minutes of crying, which is already an improvement from the first two days. This morning, it took only 8 minutes for her to fall asleep for the morning nap!
Well, here’s to hoping this training pays off. Are you attempting a sleep revolution with your baby? I would love to hear about it!

We Survived Night 2 of CIO

I’m back! Living proof that it is possible to get through at least TWO nights of Ferber! Since it’s Saturday, I’ll keep it short and sweet.

Friday afternoon was difficult in that we had to get through 2 naps sans rocking and other bad habits. First nap took about 45 minutes before she eventually fell asleep, for all of 30 minutes. Hmm… the exchange rate sucks here in Nap Town.

Second nap was a lot better. Took 25 minutes for her to fall asleep, and she napped for 1.5 hours! The biggest miracle was that she actually slept through our crazy loud trash trucks. That’s no easy feat.

Finally, bedtime. After her bath & nightcap, she was out for the rest of the evening. Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. It wasn’t until 7:00 am this morning that I went in to say, “Good Morning! I love you! I’m sorry… blame Daddy.” Luckily, all was forgiven as she beamed from ear to ear.
