SwaddleDesigns Baby Sleep Bundle Giveaway

Sometimes you just fall in love with a product.

In fact, you can’t help but fall in love when it happens to be something that helps your little noob sleep better and longer.

Case in point … the SwaddleLite blankets from SwaddleDesigns.

I’m definitely smitten.

 

When NB2.0 was about 4 weeks old, we were able to smoothly transition her from sleeping in our room to her crib. I believe it’s because we swaddled her consistently with our SwaddleDesigns blankets that she was able to sleep so much better than Noob Baby. True, part of it has to do with their unique dispositions, but a good swaddle and some white noise can really work miracles to help a fussy baby sleep better! So why am I so crazy about their blankets?

First of all, if you know anything about traditional receiving blankets, then you’ll know that they are never the right size. You know those magical little blankets they use at the hospital to burrito-fy your noob? They’re square. You know that freshly laundered pile of receiving blankets you got at your baby shower? Rectangles! I’m willing to bet that if you swaddle using a typical receiving blanket, the same type I used back with Noob Baby, then your baby burrito probably looks something like my Chipotle burritos — messy and all over the place. Well, it’s because you have the wrong blanket, my friend.

Not only are SwaddleDesign blankets the perfect size and shape (SQUARE!) for swaddling, but they’re also adorable, sturdy, and multifunctional. They have so many great designs and prints, that I insist you check out their site right now and tell me which one you love! My absolute favorite is their new Disney It’s a Small World set. They totally found my weak spot. It’s A Small World + (insert anything here) = MINDBLOW. That’s an official mathematical theorem in case you were wondering.

You will love that the Marquisette blankets in their Baby Sleep Bundle are lightweight and breathable, perfect for this ridiculous heat we’re having. Their swaddling blankets are great to carry around on errands, perfect for tummy time, and even work as stroller and nursing covers. I love that the Baby Sleep Bundle comes with three blankets so you have a few spare when one is in the wash (READ: Diaper Blowout). Also, there is handy tag sewn on each one with illustrated directions on how to swaddle. It’s a no brainer. Lastly, the Marquisette style blankets are very gauzy and light. So when the blanket happens to land on NB2.0’s face, I’m not freaking out about her suffocating.

The Baby Sleep Bundle includes the Super-Soothing Sleep Sounds CD from Dr. Harvey Karp. There are 6 types of soothing sounds included, each with a description of the best application (i.e. Strong Hair Dryer for frantic babies, Rain on the Roof for peaceful, extended sleep). Having white noise in the background is critical when you have a 4-year-old running around the house with ZERO volume control.

I strongly urge you to visit the SwaddleDesigns site to learn how to swaddle. And if you haven’t read Dr. Karp’s book The Happiest Baby on the Block or watched the DVD version, definitely pick it up. That man knows what he’s talking about. I get so many emails asking how to extend naps or help with sleep, and the first thing I ask is, “Are you doing the 5 S’s?” Most importantly … are you swaddling?? It seems like many of you swaddle or used to swaddle (from the comments I’ve read on the Noob Mommy Facebook page), with much success. Hurray for our baby burritos! Aren’t they delicious?

    I absolutely LOVE your blog!! great info for clueless new mommies like me. I am an absolutely horrible swaddler even with the SwaddleDesigns “how-to” tag. Our poor baby girl looked like a burrito gone wrong, lol. What saved us are the SwaddleMe swaddlesacks, I think it’s by Summer Infant. I just wish it came in this lightweight muslin fabric — every single swaddlesack we own are thick cotton or microfleece or fleece. Wish we had a lightweight swaddlesack to use during our heat waves… Spent hours searching for swaddlesack muslin-type or other light fabric but couldn’t find any. Do you have any ideas where I can get something like that? Or maybe you can design a muslin fabric swaddlesack with SwaddleDesigns? 🙂

    I have to agree with Noob Mommy. I am in love with the Disney It’s a Small World – Very Berry Hello! The sailboats are pretty adorable, too, but nothing beats the Disney ones 🙂 What a great giveaway. Perfect for when we have our own Noob Baby 2.0 someday!
