2. Slumdog Millionaire: The movie lives up to all the hype. It’s a love story. A tale of friendship. A shockingly eye-opening look at slum life in Mumbai. Can you escape what’s written in fate? If you haven’t seen it yet, change your plans this weekend because your fate is to see Slumdog!

3. A new baby in the family: We met up with my cousin and his wife/the mother-to-be this week. We’re thrilled to be having a new member in the family come July. Just waiting for the verdict – sugar and spice is our prediction.

4. My good friend Jenny is coming over today to chillax with me and the Noob. It’s a Friday girls day. There are videos and junk food in our future I think I’ll go bake some cookies now to satisfy our sweet tooths (sweet teeth? sounds just as weird I know).

A few things that made me happy this week

• Spending time with some old friends. It was great partaking in some delectable Hot Pot on Monday with good friends. Noob Daddy and I don’t go out and socialize too much nowadays with the Noob and her newly acquired skill of screaming in pitches only bats and dolphins communicate in. So, it was a happy thing to have people over for good eats… my favorite!

• Visiting the grandparents and enjoying a Seafood Cobb by the beach is something that definitely brings a smile to my face.

• I took a walk this week with the Noob. Big deal, right? Well, for me… it kind of is. I’ve been meaning to exercise more regularly. So even though I didn’t run a marathon or anything, it’s all about “baby steps.”

• The Inauguration! New hope and opportunities, change and a brighter future. That’s an incredible gift for our children. If you haven’t read Barack’s letter to his daughters, it’s incredibly moving. (Thanks, McMommy, for the link.)
